Care Guide
How do I care for my SWAY genuine leather and premium microfiber gear?
Proper maintenance is essential to keeping your gloves and shin guards in top condition and preventing the stitching holes from warping. Please follow the specific care instructions for your gear's material below:
- Wipe down after every use: Sweat leaves behind salt and moisture that will quickly break down the leather if left untreated. Thoroughly wipe down your gear after every single session using just a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Air dry only: Remove your gear from your gym bag and let it air dry naturally. Never apply direct heat (like a radiator or hair dryer) to speed up the process, as this will dry rot the material.
- Avoid the sun: Never leave your gear out in direct sunlight, as the UV rays and heat will permanently damage and warp the leather.
Do NOT machine wash your gear as this will damage its material and structural integrity.
How do I care for my SWAY Muay Thai shorts?
To keep your shorts looking vibrant and to protect the thick elastic waistbands, follow these washing guidelines:
- Wash inside out: Always turn your shorts inside out before throwing them in the wash. This protects any printed logos, embroidery, and the outer material from friction against other garments.
- Wash on cold: Run them on a gentle cycle using cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners and bleach, which can break down the fibers and ruin the fabric's durability and moisture-wicking properties.
- Air dry flat or hang dry: Laying your shorts flat to dry or hang drying them is the safest way to preserve the material. High heat from a machine dryer will quickly degrade the elastic waistband and can shrink or damage synthetic fabrics. Never iron them.
How do I care for my SWAY handwraps?
To keep your hand wraps fresh, elastic, and free of odor, we recommend washing them after every use.
- Use a wash bag: Always place your loose wraps in a mesh laundry bag before putting them in the washing machine. This prevents them from tangling into a massive knot or stretching out around your other clothes.
- Wash on cold: Run them on a gentle cycle with cold water and a standard, mild detergent. Avoid bleach or heavy fabric softeners.
- Air dry only: Hang your wraps over a drying rack, shower rod, or chair to dry naturally. Never put them in the dryer—the high heat will permanently ruin the elasticity and degrade the Velcro.
- Roll for storage: Once they are completely dry, roll them back up tightly. This keeps them crisp, wrinkle-free, and easy to apply for your next training session.
